Plastic Surgery for Tweens
The number of children opting for cosmetic procedures has risen dramatically over the past decade. According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, 160,000 children had cosmetic procedures in 2008. But in 2010, that number rose to 209,000. The debate centers around what kinds of procedures are necessary. While few would debate the necessity of repairing a cleft palate or reconstructing an ear, procedures such as breast augmentations are questionable.
Note: many of these treatments are off-the-wall and should not be tried at home.
