Clarence Thomas was once a Monsanto attorney. Donald Rumsfeld owned a pharmaceutical firm that was bought out by Monsanto. Michael R. Taylor was a Monsanto lobbyist before being appointed as a senior adviser to the FDA, in charge of overseeing the safety of Monsanto's products. Hmmm. (Of course, it doesn't necessary follow that Monsanto has any influence on U.S. food policy just because both organizations have employed the same people.)
