MK Ultra

MK Ultra was a top secret Cold War CIA program involving mind control experiments. The goals were apparently to either drug Russian spies with substances like LSD so that they would unwittingly spill state secrets, or use hypnosis on an American to create a Manchurian candidate-like assassin. Though most of the MK Ultra files were destroyed in the 1970s when the program was shut down, some Americans believe they still suffer from the after effects of this secret government program.
