Dolly The Sheep
Cloning, the process of taking a strand of DNA and replicating entire animals, even humans, is far closer to becoming a reality. In 1996, Dolly the Sheep, the first animal to be cloned from a single adult cell, was born. Her successful creation means that we have the technology to clone more animals. So, why isn't the world full of flocks or identical sheep or herds of identical cows? It turns out that although several types of animals have been successfully cloned, more often than not, an abnormality forms in the embryo and it dies there.
