Laser Beam Killer

In 1924, a mysterious man named Harry Grindell-Matthews came to the British Air Ministry with what he said was a death ray. Grindell-Matthews claimed to be able to lock on targets at previously unheard-of distances. However, the story almost immediately goes cold from there, and no one can say for sure what became of him or his supposed invention.
