Geotagged Photos

Upload a picture to a social networking site and you're laying out the red carpet for tech-savvy crooks to break in and rob you blind. Embedded in your photo might be a geotag, a kernel of data that provides the exact longitude, latitude and time that the photo was taken. It's a simple matter for would-be-thieves to search for a simple phrase like "on vacation," discover a home address via previous geotags, and rob the house knowing full well that the occupants are away on holiday.
