What We're Supposed to Believe
At first glance, the case against Robert Kennedy's assassin appeared to be open-and-shut. The gunman, Palestinian Sirhan Sirhan, had been wrestled to the ground at the scene and, according to diaries and notebooks later recovered, had a deep-seated hatred of RFK, due to the Senator's pro-Israel stance. But despite Sirhan's guilty plea, which resulted in a death sentence that was later commuted to life imprisonment, he claimed to have no memory of the shooting. To this day, Sirhan Sirhan is confined to Pleasant Valley State Prison, California.
